Hello
My GG Grandmother was SARAH ANNE GREAVES supposed to be born in 1821 in Limehurst, Oldham. Her father was RICHARD GREAVES.
Sarah married HENRY LOWDEN FOWLER in 1840 in St Michael's Church, Ashton under Lyne. He died and then Sarah married THOMAS HAGUE in August 1846 at St Michael's Church, Ashton under Lyne.
Sarah died in 1870 and was buried in St Michael's Churchyard, Ashton under Lyne and I have since been told that the graves were removed from that Churchyard to
make way for a new road. I don't know where they went.
I have never found a Baptism for Sarah Anne Greaves after looking at numerous Church records from the area.
I have all the records for events after her marrying Thomas Hague.
I would like to find the Baptism of Sarah Anne Greaves to confirm her father was Richard Greaves and find out who her mother was.
The only place she might be is at the Manchester Cathedral as the records that include 1821 are not online so may be missing.
I have taken the DNA test at Ancestry and I am matched to a person who has JAMES GREAVES and BETTY HEYWOOD who married on 23 August 1869 at St Michael's Church, AUL.
James's father was JOHN GREAVES and BETTY BRIERLEY who married in St Mary's Church, Oldham on 12 June 1836.
I traced them back as best I could and I think James and John Greaves are descended from JONAH GREAVES and MERCY CLIFFE who married on 13 July 1813 at St Michael's Church, AUL but I am not 100% sure. I will have to double check again.
JONAH GREAVES and his family lived at Limehurst. I couldn't find a Sarah Anne matching up with his family but Limehurst is interesting. My GREAVES must be connected somehow.
The person who matches me didn't know anything about her Greaves beyond John Greaves and Betty Brierley.
Hoping I can find answers here.
